General Information
The English Teaching Program runs five days a week and offers a meaningful experience for participants interested in education, community development, and coastal life. Based in local schools near Gili Nanggu, Sekotong, the program focuses on interactive learning, encouraging students to practice English through conversations, classroom activities, and daily interactions.
In addition to teaching, participants may support community-based initiatives, including basic livelihood or environmental activities aligned with local needs. These experiences provide insight into sustainable practices while strengthening collaboration with the local community.
Participants gain hands-on experience in teaching, lesson planning, and community engagement, while developing a deeper understanding of how education operates in coastal and rural contexts. By working closely with teachers and local families, participants help students build confidence, actively engage in learning, and experience the authentic daily life of the Sekotong coastal community near Gili Nanggu.

Rules:
Teaching or participating in any activity under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
Leaving program activities without permission is not allowed.
Be punctual and attend all scheduled sessions.
Report any issues or concerns to the coordinators immediately.
Coordinators reserve the right to suspend participation if program rules or ethical standards are violated.
Typical Day
Morning Shift (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Teaching English: Lead engaging lessons, improving students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Classroom Support: Assist in classroom management and provide extra support to students needing help.
Cultural Exchange: Share aspects of your culture, encouraging students to learn about the world beyond Lombok.
Midday (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Lunch Break: Relax and enjoy lunch with fellow backpackers or engage with local teachers and students.
Afternoon Shift (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
Workshops & Extra Activities: Run creative workshops or after-school activities that focus on skill-building and teamwork.
Community Engagement: Interact with students and local teachers, sharing experiences and insights about global cultures.
Evening (Optional)
Reflection and Social Time: Gather with fellow backpackers to reflect on the day’s work and share experiences.

However, we offer an optional, separate transport service for your convenience, which can be booked directly through us. Once you arrive at our base camp (https://maps.app.goo.gl/BCNXERqYgn91Qvn38), a full orientation on conservation protocols, local customs, and safety procedures will be conducted.
Availability
Year-round. Minimum stay: 1 week. Maximum stay: 8 weeks. (Extensions possible based on mutual agreement)

Accommodation: Participants will stay in a private room located in Bagek Kembar, 15 mins by scooter from the location.
Meals: Participants will receive three meals per day.
Laundry Service: Free laundry service is available for participants throughout the program.
Beverages: Complimentary tea and coffee are provided daily for participants’ comfort.
Each homestay is equipped with a private kitchen for participants to cook or prepare personal meals.
Exclude
Flights and Transportation: Backpackers cover their travel to Lombok and local transportation (including airport transfers and scooter rental)
Travel Insurance: Must be arranged by each backpacker
Visa and Vaccination Fees: All immigration and health-related costs are the participant’s responsibility
Personal Expenses: Includes souvenirs, snacks, and extra meals
Accommodation: Extra lodging outside scheduled program dates is not included
Medical Expenses: Backpackers must cover their own health costs
Recreation and Tours: Activities like surfing or scuba diving are not included but may be arranged independently
Lost or Damaged Equipment: Backpackers are liable for their own gear and any loaned materials
