As a social enterprise in Indonesia, we dedicated to community empowerment through surfing and environmental education. Our flagship initiative, Embrace the Waves, provides free surf and swim lessons for local youth and women to promote water safety, confidence, and inclusion.
Through this program, Surf, Snap & Inspire, we invite backpackers to help us tell our story, by creating digital content that connects our ocean conservation and social impact work with a global audience.

General Information:
This program is ideal for travelers who want to develop their storytelling and digital media skills while contributing to an impactful grassroots movement. You’ll surf, document, and create social media content that brings visibility to our community-based initiatives. Your contribution directly supports our Embrace the Waves classes, equipment for youth, and women’s empowerment through ocean sports.

Representus responsibly online. Avoid sharing content that misrepresents the program, the community, or Indonesia. Respect intellectual property and always credit collaborators.
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability throughout the program. Substance abuse, harassment, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Follow all surf, travel, and filming safety guidelines. Report any incidents or concerns immediately to the program coordinator.
Typical Day
Day 1 – Arrival & Orientation Upon arrival in Lombok, participants will be welcomed by our local team and introduced to the initiative. Orientation includes a briefing on storytelling goals, ethical content creation, and local community engagement. Accommodation: A private room is provided in a local Indonesian home set in a peaceful environment, conveniently located in the center of the island.
Meals: Participants will receive three home-cooked meals daily prepared by local families, with access to a kitchen for preparing additional meals if desired.
Laundry: Laundry services are available nearby at an affordable rate with easy and convenient access.
Certificate: A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the program to acknowledge your contribution to coral reef restoration and marine conservation efforts.
Beverages: Complimentary tea or coffee is provided daily for your comfort and refreshment.
Access to local surf training and mentoring from local surfers.
Surf Board: Surfboards are provided throughout the program for training and daily surf sessions. Participants will be matched with suitable board types based on their skill level, with maintenance and safety checks performed regularly. Personal boards are also welcome for those who prefer to use their own equipment.
Exclude
Participants are responsible for their own flights and local transportation, including airport transfers and scooter rentals. While airport or harbor pickup is not directly provided, we are happy to assist in coordinating transportation through our trusted car and scooter rental partners.
