General Information:
The Travel Buddy program runs throughout your stay in Lombok, offering hands-on experience in educational program development, backpackers initiatives, and content creation. Participants work closely with the Indopackers team to design backpackers packages, create engaging social media content, and take part in field activities in locations such as Sekotong, Mandalika, and Desa Wisata Aik Berik.
Participants will gain practical skills in:
Planning and implementing educational programs
Social media content creation
Community engagement and evaluation
In addition to program work, participants will explore Lombok’s culture, traditional villages, and natural landscapes, while learning about sustainable tourism and backpackers management.
Code of Conduct:
Follow all instructions from the Indopackers team and local coordinators.
Show respect to local communities, staff, and fellow participants.
Avoid behavior that may offend local customs, traditions, or cultural practices.
Use polite, friendly, and encouraging language in all interactions.
Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive environment during all activities.
Rules:
Participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
Leaving program activities without permission is not allowed.
Be punctual and attend all scheduled sessions or activities.
Report any issues, concerns, or discomfort to coordinators immediately.
Coordinators reserve the right to suspend participation if ethical or program rules are violated.
Typical Day
Day-1: Arrival & Orientation
Upon arrival, participants will be welcomed, and the Indopackers team will provide an explanation about the program.
Day-2:Sade Village, Mandalika Beach, Merese Hill
Participants will go on a cultural tour to explore local traditions, visit traditional Sasak houses, enjoy Mandalika Beach with its unique white sand, and watch the sunset from Merese Hill.
Day 3-6: Sekotong, West Lombok
Participants will move to Sekotong to collaborate with the Indopackers team in developing backpackers programs and creating social media content, including programs focused on diving and mangrove conservation.
Day-7: TWA Kerandangan
Participants will continue creating content and developing backpackers programs, including activities related to birdwatching.
Day 8-10: Central Lombok (Agung House), East Lombok
Participants will conduct evaluations and occasional visits while creating content or enhancing programs at existing sites in Central Lombok, such as Desa Wisata Hijau Bilebante and At-Tamimy, as well as in East Lombok.
Day 11-13: Aik Berik Village
Participants will move to Desa Wisata Aik Berik to visit the site and create content about the programs already developed there. They will also have time to relax, be creative, and update existing programs.
Day-14: Departure
Participants will be escorted to the airport or port, marking the conclusion of the Travel Buddy program.

Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years old (according to the organizer’s policy).
Participants must be in good physical and mental health and free from serious illnesses.
Must complete a health or personal information form before the program begins.
No alcohol or recreational drugs are allowed during the program.
Must follow all briefings and instructions given by the coordinators or the Indopackers team.
Expected to maintain professionalism and respect local culture and community norms throughout the program.
Must have an active social media account and be willing to upload activities during the program to support content creation.

Participants will be picked up by the Indopackers team either at Lombok International Airport or at the port, and transferred to their accommodationlocated in Central Lombok, at the Indopackers team’s residence.
