The program contribution represents the estimated costs for your 1-4 week backpacking experience. Every cent is reinvested to cover your needs and drive progress at your backpacking site. Here’s how the funds are allocated:
- 90%: Supports the community directly by covering accommodations (local homestays), meals, scooter rentals, and wages for local workers.
- 10%: Contributes to community initiatives like providing laptops for students, building schools, or supporting environmental projects.
Paying the program contribution doesn’t mean we don’t value your efforts, time, or dedication. Your contribution is essential for sustaining this program; without it, the lack of budget would make the program unsustainable. By contribute, you’re not only covering your needs but also actively contributing to the development of the local economy.
Your presence helps uplift many lives, creating ripples of positive change in underserved communities. Additionally, our program’s contribution are significantly lower-sometimes 50-70% cheaper-than if you were to arrange everything independently. This is because the beneficiaries of your backpacking appreciate your help and offer their services at reduced costs, ensuring you can contribute meaningfully without overspending.
We do not retain any percentage for organizational profit. However, we encourage backpackers to support the platform’s growth by paying modest backpackers contribution and/or donating to ongoing campaigns.
